New Link Page Checklist: Set Up Your Link in Bio in 15 Minutes
Setting up a link page takes about 15 minutes if you know what goes where. Work through this list in order and you'll have a page that's ready to share.
1. Pick your page name
Your page name becomes your link, for example litelink.to/yourname. On LiteLinks it can be 3 to 30 characters, using letters, numbers, hyphens and underscores.
- Use the same name as your social handles if you can, so people recognise it.
- Keep it short and easy to say out loud.
- Avoid numbers and underscores that people will mistype.
2. Add a clear photo
Use the same photo as your main social profile so people know they're in the right place. A face for creators, a logo for businesses. Make sure it's readable as a small circle.
3. Write a short bio
One or two lines: what you do and what's new. See how to write a bio that gets taps.
4. Add your links, most important first
- The one thing you're pushing right now
- The thing people always ask for (shop, booking, menu)
- A way to stay in touch (newsletter, Discord, community)
- Everything else, in order of use
5. Write titles that say what people get
"Watch the new video: budget desk setup" beats "YouTube". See link titles that get clicks.
6. Add your social profiles as icons
Put your other profiles in the icon row instead of as full buttons. The free plan holds 3 social icons, Lite holds 8 and Pro has no limit.
7. Pick a look
Choose colors and a font that match your brand or your work. Every theme, font, pattern and color on LiteLinks is free, including on the free plan. Make sure text and buttons stand out clearly from the background.
8. Test everything on your phone
- Open your page on your phone, on mobile data
- Tap every link and check it goes to the right place
- Read it outside in daylight: is everything legible?
- Check it on a friend's phone if you can
9. Put the link everywhere
- Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X and any other profiles
- Your email signature
- Video descriptions and podcast show notes
- Business cards and flyers, as a link or a QR code
10. Check back in two weeks
Look at which links get tapped, move the popular ones up and remove the ones nobody uses. Our guide to reading link-in-bio analytics explains what to look for.
